Katie Patrick Christides is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her training through The University of Mississippi where she earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology and The University of Tennessee where she earned a Masters degree in Social Work. Katie has gained valuable experience over the years in various capacities through her work with children, teens, adults, and families going through the adoption process, in the foster care system, the school system, as well as outpatient adult mental health.
Katie has received formal training and is experienced in working with a variety of clinical issues including anxiety, developmental trauma, PTSD, depression, as well as adjustment related issues. Katie utilizes different treatment approaches in her work and often blends different methods from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Brain Spotting, and Mindfulness. In addition, she uses breathing and visual exercises to help the individual calm their nervous system and enhance their mind-body connection. Katie opened New Leaf Counseling in 2014, is currently licensed in both Mississippi and Tennessee.
